Advice (Especially On GPU) For A £2000 Gaming/Programming Build

Build Help

Hello,

I'm looking for a £2000-budget build for 1440p gaming (primary use), developing programming/scientific modelling/data science skills and 3d modelling for 3d printing (secondary uses).

I've been away from the PC gaming world for some time, so pretty much completely out of the loop on where things stand hardware wise.

I asked the kind folks over at r/buildapcforme for a baseline to work from, and I frankensteined the following together from their suggestions:

As this is a bit more of an active community, I wanted to get a bit more input on the build in general, but especially regarding the GPU.

I've been recommended both the 4070 Ti Super and the 7900 XTX but I'm unsure which would be best.

I understand the 4070 Ti Super is very recent, so I'm a bit wary that the price:performance ratio might be a bit unfavourable compared to other cards. However, it seems that the edge that the 4070 has over the 7900 in terms of ray-tracing and upscaling performance might make it a better gaming card.

In any case, are there good resources for working out which third-party manufacturer cards are best in any given case and whether the differences in performance are worth the differences in price?
