I've taken a break from the dating scene and the dating apps for just under 2 years. I spent the time working on myself (mental and physical health), my career. Now, like a bear awaking from hibernation, I think I am slowly ready to explore the dating scene again but take a bit more of a nuanced approach by looking in nonconventional places like reddit and other online communities, but also at local gatherings and events. I don't think I'm the only one with this fatigue, I sincerely think people are burnt out from dating apps and are looking elsewhere to seek connection.

A bit about me:

• 6'4 and around 215lb
• Dark brown almost black hair. Short beard. Icy blue eyes.
• Bilingual English and Spanish
• I work in education and I use my bilingual skills daily :)
• I love living in the city. I hate that you have to drive so many places in the US and while I have a car, I would very much prefer walkable and explorable spaces.
• I'd prefer if you were closer. I did do an LDR (during covid so no ability to visit overseas), I'm not necessarily opposed, but I'd prefer to be with you in person!
• I am progressive/liberal. I work in education. That's hopefully pretty obvious. These values are important to me because there are a lot of people in my life whom I care deeply about that don't have the same privileges and protections that I do. Also, it would be counter productive career-wise to support anything different. Not here to argue politics, but these are my values.
• I am also nonreligious but appreciate the different wisdom and lessons that can be learned throughout the religions of the world. That said, I have some concerns and suspicions of overly powerful organized religious bodies.
• I have recently gotten into fitness (ok 3ish years isn't recent anymore but I love that I can always add new challenges to it. I started with HIIT but now I mainly do weightlifting, rucking, and the occasional yoga session. I also love cycling and try to exclusively cycle instead of using my car during the summer. I've also recently been challenging myself with cold baths.
• I want kids. I'm an educator, I chose to work with kids and I definitely want a family of my own.
• I LOVE EDM. I have a DJ board that I mess around with for fun as a hobby but it's nothing I really want to turn into a side gig. I will pretty much vibe to anything but country but will even vibe to that if it's mixed in with something at 124-128bpm. Let's go to all the concerts/fests/raves!!!
• I do enjoy fashion and style and it's been fun really figuring out what style works best for me. I wear a lot of jeans, Chelsea boots. Recently I've skewed more minimalist but I also love a good flashy Kentucky Derby outfit.
• I have a few pics so hopefully they do me justice and demonstrate that I am indeed 6'4". I've been tall all my life so lying about it just seems baffling.
• I am 420 friendly. I'd prefer if you are too on a societal level. Idc if you don't like 420 personally. I also don't need it in my life, I just prefer it sometimes to having alcohol if I am on a night out.
• I am a jokester and a goofball.
• I do prefer to date someone younger. 2-3 years is fine but I'd honestly prefer 5-10 years. I think this preference really stems from me not being ready for kids yet despite being 32. I don't want to feel rushed, I would like to be able to have a few years together of dating/marriage before trying for kids.
• While I am progressive, I personally like some traditional gender roles if done in a nice and wholesome (but also kinda hot) kind of way. Lol but on the other hand, I feel gender roles are also kind of made up so idk
• Also, I am going to make this kind of a footnote because while this is a huge part of me, it's not the only part of me and I want to be very clear that it is just one important layer of compatibility and companionship: I am not vanilla. Feel free to ask more privately.
