French hotels booking as a family

I am just looking to book a stay for 2 adults and 2 children. Children are under 5. I get very few options when searching for a hotel in France. However, the moment I change it to just 2 adults I see plenty options. Prices double for kids. In England, you get a sofa bed roll up and you’re good as gold for the same price. What am I missing here?
