You guys have it all wrong. The best way to do Diff 7-9 Terminids isn't fighting them, it's running away. It's been proven in Helldivers 1.

DISCUSSION

This has been a tactic since Helldivers 1 in its difficulties 8 to 15. You don't fight them, you run. Once you reach a certain distance, they despawn. Especially in solo diving.

The difference with HD1 and HD2, we can split up. HD1 we had to run away together.

But this strategy only ever applies to the usual missions, not the exterminate mission.

If there are multiple people, 1 person takes all of the horde, leads them out the objectives while the remaining people will run away from the objectives killing the few that follows. Once cleared, they go back to the objective except for the 1 person taking the horde.

The only thing that the person with the horde will kill should be the stalkers or the hunters.

It's been what I do with randoms. I constantly see them fighting hordes and dying, I do the objectives with ease separated from them. Even manage to get a lot of samples. The only main issue is extracting since they all seem to keep going into the area with their hordes.

Also that once a bug breach is done in one location, it doesn't breach in other locations for a while, so you can engage with bugs if there are any and they won't trigger an alarm.

Another issue I keep seeing, people just circle around the objectives trying to kill the hordes but they just respawn faster than getting killed.

Just because we have the tools to fight them doesn't mean we always have to fight them.

Also that if all the bugs are concentrated in one area, like a looot of them are in one area, they don't spawn bugs in the other areas. So undiscovered points of interests will be clear of bugs already which makes things faster.

Or that if you pass by points of interests with the horde, the bugs will follow and then despawn, clearing the area so you can come back to it easily.

The loadout I always run is Breaker/Breaker Incendiary, Shield Pack, Grenade Launcher, 500KG, Orbital Laser, Stamina Enhancement.

I never call down resupply, I go for points of interests for ammo.

As for extermination missions, Both Mortars seem effective, but throw them at the edge of the map where bugs don't spawn. Put a sentry next to them to protect. Each map has certain fixed locations for bugs to spawn. For some reason, the Mortar EMS that stuns somehow prevents Bile Titans from spawning from the spots if it is covered by EMS, but if they do spawn, call in 500KG bombs at the area as it spawns, throw nearer you if there's a stratagem delay modifier.
