A quick question on Linux

My gaming PC is broken so I'm switching to my old laptop for some time and as it has an HDD on which I don't want to spend money to upgrade to an SSD, I am switching it into a Linux Machine.

A. How can I make it so that I can have somewhat a similar experience to Windows ?

And B . Can I run pirated games on it without any difficulty or issues such as having to run special commands, apps etc ?
