Need ideas how to remove a spring mattress

So there’s this double spring mattress which is 10+ yrs old and in need of urgent replacement but… the apartment is on the 8th floor and there’s no way for it to get in to the elevator. It weighs a lot so I need to rent at least 3 people to take it down by the stairs which is going to cost an arm and a leg. Any ideas how and with what machinery I can devour it in to chunks so I can take it out by elevator? For the replacement I’ve decided to hire a carpenter to remodel the bed and place a memory foam mattress which comes rolled.
