rental application to asking for credit card #?

is it normal for a rental application for off campus housing to ask for your savings account number, checking account number, and credit card number? i am new to this process and thought this was too much information being asked just for an application! thank you for any help! they’re asking what bank institution it is and the amount of funds there are in there as well.
