Wonderful season so far, but what was the downtime even for???

DISCUSSION

This season has been spectacular in its design, battle pass rewards, and gameplay. The new landmarks are so awesome and yet elegant, the battle pass has a fine mix of wondrous rewards and the gameplay really shifted in a fun way with the miniboss rooms and new mythics being added. It's safe to say that Epic Games did very well, especially with the overhaul of quests to make sure that it doesn't feel too grindy like last season.

However, with all that praise in mind, it also simultaneously feels barely playable. Almost as if dollar went towards making it look spiffy rather than function properly. Not only that but a lot of the changes that fans had been asking for were completely neglected. Fortnite has been constantly crashing for many players, (including myself) and not even once per day but nearly every 30 minutes to an hour. The item shop's sounds via emotes, gliders, and even pickaxes has been having issues of being completely mute. Exp in the battle pass has been achknowledged by Epic for having issues and Fortnite Jam Festival quests are not even showing up.

On that same note, even after plenty of demand, Jam Tracks still haven't been added as lobby music. The Lockers still remain with the same poor UI and somehow now glitch while trying to move through presets. The item shop has been a stagnent mess with very poor rotations, and LEGO Fortnite still has plenty of characters that were going to be given an updated and more polished look, and yet didn't recieve such over the several months that took place.

I adore this game, but it doesn't even seem like the downtime implemented or fixed anything. Or at the very least, it didn't patch up the true issues that are keeping this season from being a fan favorite.
