Need advice:offer letter was more than we verbally agreed now after two months they want to go back to the verbal agreement amount

Ive been working at my local hospital for the past two month, today I got a call from the hiring manager telling me my offer letter was incorrect and my pay will changed to what we verbally agreed on. My question is this possible and if there a way for it to stay at my current pay
