Help with my finances?

so i recently got put on salary with benefits but never have i ever looked into my employee 401k im not sure what im looking at but there's 307$ in there so far, do y'all have tips on what i should be doing with this? how can i make it grow with little contributions added every 2 weeks? what is this i hear about investing you 401k to make money while you wait for retirement?
