Accepting Music as a Trigger
I’m starting to realize that I have to stop listening to music so often if I want to stop daydreaming/start living in reality. I tend towards black-and-white thinking, so after trying to stop listening to music all but during workouts, I tried doing 1 hour per day of music + allowing myself to daydream. Unfortunately, I think it’s just too tempting and it’s something I’m going to have to go cold turkey on for the time being. I’ve tried to walk the middle path and put effort towards being present while listening, but I end up in a daydream before I know it.
For now, I can only really do classical music, or some other kind of music without words. It’s a sad change to have to make, but I know that the reward is much greater than the cost. Please send strength my way:)
