In the last few months through this group, I have found out about Career Pathways, the union (I joined) and that I may be eligible for health insurance. I called the Walker Group and they are sending me an application.

Now I'd like to share something with you, hoping that it will help someone. My adult son gets MediCare and MediCal through Kaiser. I just found out that for the last 8 years he was eligible to $50 a month in over the counter products through the medicare program at Kaiser. He recently was placed into a special needs category and is now eligible to (I believe they said) $1000 a year in OTC benefits.

I think back to all the times I really struggled buying him diapers and just basic OTC medicine and I never knew about this program. I just got off the phone with them to see if there was anything else he might qualify for.

So if your consumer has MediCare and MediCal it may be worth the call to their benefit department to see if they are eligible for more services.

I just ordered a bunch of stuff for him, including insect repellent, toothpaste, an electric toothbrush a food scale (ours just broke), cold medicine and Advil. It was all free and will be delivered to my house.
