Watch dies with 50% battery left

Been having a weird issue where my PW2 suddenly dies at around 50% battery (the battery is also draining much faster than usual). When I press the crown to turn it back on, the little red empty battery appears at the bottom of the screen.

I put it on the charger, and at first it seemed stuck at 0% for a while, and then charged up a few percent and suddenly jumped to like 60+%.

Anyone else have issue similar to this? It seems to have started with the recent update.
