What can Kabaddi learn from the NFL? Well, let me introduce to you about an initiative started by the NFL to broaden its international player pool outside the states. THE NFL INTERNATIONAL PLAYERS PATHWAY. The NFL International Players Pathway program was designed to provide elite international athletes the opportunity to compete at the professional level in American football. It was Established in 2017 and the program aims to develop talent from outside the United States, particularly in countries where American football is less prominent. Selected players receive specialized training and coaching to enhance their skills and understanding of the game. Each year, a select number of international players are allocated to NFL teams, where they participate in offseason workouts, training camps, and preseason games. The program not only serves to diversify the talent pool in the NFL but also promotes the growth of American football on a global scale.

So coming back, why can’t the Pro Kabaddi League start such initiative? From countries like England, Argentina, Japan, Kenya, Nigeria, etc? Kabaddi needs to learn to poach players from Rugby, American Football, Aussie Rules Football, wrestling and many other sports.

What are your thoughts on this? Should the PKL come up with a similar initiative?
