My boyfriend broke up with me(18F)

My ex boyfriend and I were dating each other for almost an year quite really in love out of no where he started acting weird days before our break up and started saying that he feels heavy while everything had been going good between us . Then one day he broke up with me on vanish mode of IG saying that he doesn't see a future and his parents would never agree to us and that it's better to break up now than later . For some reason his reason seems vague I mean if he knew what his parents are like that then why did he get into a relationship?? And even if already in relationship shouldn't you stick with the person through all the greys and blues!
