The series i was waiting for so long finally came out and let me say this. It’s okay, i say this as a fan of the game lore and game in general. The characters go through arcs which is super nice but some things happen that should have weight to them but really don’t because we only have known them for like 2 episodes. The creature designs from the games to the series go from good to meh, and i know there is limitations for design when it comes to animating them. But i feel like some were simplified too much to the point where they just look like big fat lizards. They should have kept their overall proportions and body shape at least accurate to make them look the part. The creatures also seem like push overs in the series, characters can kill them with just bows and arrows. Some can even kill them with their bare hands don’t matter how big they are..there is also one creature in particular, i wont say which, that bit the boot after being hyped up a little to end up not being all that. And got murdered in the most lame way possible, like most creatures here they wont feel as intimidating with their presence alone because how the series treats them like easy kills for anyone with a weapon. The first episode treated a creature with alot of respect and even purposefully tried to show the audience this one should not be taking lightly and gave us a reason to fear it. Thats what alot of these creatures needed to feel like this island is dangerous and barely safe because of all these creatures running around that are threatening. But to me they really failed in that aspect and instead made us fear other humans with spears much more than the creatures themselves. Some of the humans here though are interesting and actually pretty cool so we wont have a “godzilla movie” problem where the humans suck and all we want to see are the creatures. Mainly because the creatures get downplayed so bad and lose their aura.. unironically they should of treated the creatures like how the jurassic franchise treats theirs and actually make them menaces. But over all the voice acting was great, the music, theme, message and the references and even the animation. The look of the series is beautiful too with the backgrounds and characters designs. Over all it wasn’t a bad watch but still had a lot to be desired.

(P.s theres a relationship in the series that was totally forced and under developed)

My review for the ark animated series 🦖. (spoiler free)
