Skeptical about "premium brands" and what to get
I'm planning on buying new lenses but the prices are kind of scary and I'm skeptical about how the lenses themselves are marketed as and how effective they actually are.
My prescription:
OD: -5.25 / -1.00 x 75 °
OS: -6.25 / -0.50 x 165 °
I'm not really sure what the other numbers mean other than the -5.25 and -6.25 but the glasses guy told me suitable compression would be 1.67 and I should get something premium like "HOYA" with anti-reflection, anti-glare, and other coatings (not blue light).
Also, I do have a question about the blue light filter glasses; do they actually work to protect against the harmful blue light? or is that just a marketing gimic? I asked an eye doctor and he told me all these things don't make a big difference so I just want to know the facts.
I know some of these stuff might be preference but I just want to know the science behind it all and what I should get and not waste my money on.
