Call center operators how do you "make a database of clients"?

The ego-filled secretary who I am shamed to call my boss is asking me to make a database of the clients who text us on WhatsApp.

Now, "Making a database" is basically just me adding all the contacts one by one on the phone, she wants me to do this so that

"Clients can see our Status Updates and we can keep track of a database"

(As far as I know, if a client doesn't add us on WhatsApp, they won't be able to see the status anyway)

Is there a way to speed this process? In reality she makes me do this because she doesn't want me idling. It's a small business so sometimes we go a long time without actually doing anything, but it seems she hates that (specifically) I don't do anything, so she asks me to do this to keep me off my phone.

Just want to get this over so she can't annoy me over this anymore, but we have probably around 800 contacts without adding and this is just too tedious
