Is paying the price for a premier hotel in Myeongdong worth it?
$120 a night hotel room or $60 a night airbnb? I’m planning a 14 day trip and am looking at accommodations ranging from $120 a night (places like Four Points and Nine Tree in Myeongdong) to $60 a night (furnished apartment).
I’m planning for myself and my partner. He has never been to a country outside of the U.S., so the pressure is on. We’re working with a budget of $6000 USD. It would be nice to be comfortable and have a vacation experience, but between the airbnb and the hotel we’re talking an $840 price gap! As someone who grew up frugal and has never planned a vacation, this number seems shocking to me.
I’m asking you travel veterans, what would you do? 3-4 star hotels in convenient locations seems to be what most people on this sub recommend, but the part of me who gets obsessed with “the best deal” is fighting me.
