passport renewal

hey everyone! i have an international trip played and the flight out is may 18, leave it up to me to renew my passport last minute. does anyone have any advice as to what would be the quickest and most secure route to make sure i get the passport on time? I am unsure if expedited services would be fast enough, and the tucson facility requires me to wait two more weeks to make an appointment. thanks for any help!
