Agilent 1290 G7167B Needle and Needle Carriage stuck?

Hi, our G7167B has a needle+needle carrier (sorry for wrong words) that seems to be stuck in the needle seat. I am not sure if this is normally a "press fit" or if there is a release to get the needle out.

Either way, the needle arm doesnt seem to be able to detach it from it current position and I cannot manually pull it out with out force that I would consider excessive.

Any thoughts please?

It got this way because a person put it in "service mode" but I am not sure if they had changed any settings before doing this.
