Any good book/document on percussion instruments and the emotion / culture / ambiance they convey?

I want to use percussion elements that would convey regions, cultures, emotions, etc but there's just so many choices http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_percussion_instruments_by_type

Even if I read all of them individually (which I might), I was wondering if there was resources specifically on the topic.

I'm looking for this for many future compositions so nothing in particular, but the one sound I'm looking for right now is one that would convery forest / native tribe / fantastic / fantasy / adventure
