Question regarding a Character in ME1

Some spoilers but I guess everyone here has already enjoyed ME1

During the Virmire mission you enter this part where Saren is keeping Salarian soldiers for experiments with indoctrination. If you go to the the bottom level where they are holding more hostages you meet a Lieutenant Ganto Imness of the Third Infiltration Regiment. Upon meeting his acquaintance you are presented with the option of releasing him. Which I did my last play through.

My question is: What happens to him after his release? Playing through ME2 and 3 I don't recall ever hearing anything about him again.
