What if no one caught Tiger's rules violation?
A lot of people are suggesting that it isn't fair that Tiger get's so much attention and therefore is more likely to be caught with a rules violation by someone sitting at home watching TV with a critical eye.
But what if no one called in? or what if he didn't incriminate himself in his post-round interview?
His score would be two strokes better right now and it would be completely fraudulent.
That is the last thing Tiger and anyone who cares about the beautiful game of golf would want to happen. So I would say that Tiger is quite lucky that someone caught his mistake. Otherwise we would be watching a different tournament with a different leader board.
Always remember that golf is different. Players don't want to take advantage of the rules or the mistakes of the rules officials like we see athletes do in other major sports. This individual integrity makes golf different and beautiful.
