Hints about when Archer takes place
So I've seen a few posts about how we're not positive when archer takes place due to a variety of factors pushing the date earlier (ancient computers, old clothing in flashbacks) and other factors which push the setting more recent (cell phones, cars). There was also a theory the technology was different because the atomic bomb was never invented but that idea went out with the most recent episodes.
I was rewatching season 1 and caught an actual date reference in a flashback in E102 "Operation AJAX a success, Tehran is ours". Operation AJAX was a 1953 coup in Iran and Archer appears to be his usual boarding school age (10-14 maybe). Which supposing Archer in his early 30s would place the show in the late 70s. Anybody else have any ideas as to how this fits in with the other evidence in the show?
Edit: Also I think I recall hearing it occurs ambiguously post Cold-War. For writers who do such a stellar job making great references it doesn't seem like them to add something in the wrong place.
