I don't know if here is right to post this, or somewhere else has advice, but my dream is to live in NYC, and although I know I have years ahead of me, I want to know the best way to succeed.

I want to live in NYC. It's what I've wanted my entire life, and I know it's what I'll continue wanting.

I don't have much going for me right now.

I have kind of a plan, but I want a more certain one.

Current plan:

  • Go to community college for two years.

  • Start a tattoo apprenticeship(This is what I really want to be, I'm a good artist, I've been offered an apprenticeship before[didn't take it up for personal reasons], and I know this is what I truly want to be).

  • Possibly work at a tattoo shop for some period of time before even trying to get to NYC.

  • ...???

  • I have a friend who also wants to move to NYC, we want to be roommates, I know we will be excellent roommates.

  • Friend is still figuring out what he wants to do, mostly work with something computer related.

I know this sounds stupid. But I'm young, and I could really use advice.

I want to get started now, and I want to do everything I can to make myself make it in NYC.

I just don't know how.

Any advice will help.

Much love to future fellow New Yorkers.
