My dad is having a midlife financial crisis...

MY dad is in his mid 50's making about 70K/ year. unfortunately, i think he lives paycheck to paycheck and pays his bills plus supports my sister college and her finances and stuff (she is only 18 and in college.)

He has been suckered into this MLM called 5Linx which to me sounds straight up boochy. I mean seriously, pyramid scheme? I understand its a legal business entity, but seriously, why go through a middle man to get my services?

Also he has been talking about taking a test to become a insurance person, talking about IUL's ( Index Universal Life ) Insurance.

Im just worried that he is getting suckered into things and is jumping on the band wagon at any scheme that pops up. I know he is a hard working person and he just doesnt want to feel like he cant himself or his kids things. (He said he wants a laptop but doesnt want either myself or anyone else to buy him one, and that sort of broke my heart.)

Any advice will do. Also any good books or research material that may help him find opportunities or something for him to get him through this rut until things pick up for him?

thanks1
