Favorite work of fiction as an atheist?
I've always been partial to classical Russian literature, my favorite author being Fyodor Dostoyevskiy. I've always enjoyed the themes of idiocy, vileness, and redemption/salvation that his novels are centered around.
One of my favorite books of his has always been The Brothers Karamazov. When I was still a Christian, I always read the book and related myself to the youngest brother, Alyosha, but right now I am reading the book for the first time since my de-converting and I find myself enjoying the novel even more so now as an atheist, and I find myself now relating more to the middle brother, Ivan.
I found this very interesting that the same story could speak so differently to me now as an atheist as opposed to when I was still a devout Christian. I'd like to hear any similar situations any of y'all have had with any novels or movies or music, or whatever!
