Help! My home server is setup with hardware and software, but now i have no idea how to configure and get the most out of it.

Hey guys,

Sorry if this is not the best place for this. I really need some help from you guys. I plan on using my home server to do a lot of learning as i am currently working at a Help Desk/on site tech job. Although i will also be using it for backups on my laptop and gaming computer for starters. I want to configure it to do just about everything that can be done that is useful.

My current setup is Windows Home Server 2011. My hardware is kind of a work in progress as i get some money together. I have a Micro ATX Lian Li case and MSI NF725GM-P43 motherboard. AMD Phenom ll X4. I have the OS installed on a 1TB WD Black HDD and also have a Seagate 750GB drive.

Please any guides to help me get the most out of this would really be very helpful. Along with anything you guys know about how to setup WHS to really get everything out if it and the best features it has. I want to use it for as many things as possible. Backups, Video/music streaming, want to access files if possible over the internet but without using remote desktop.

Thank You guys, sorry for all the text!

EDIT: Also i have an Airport Extreme that i am unsure how to make sure it is setup to be able to do everything id like. I am considering getting a different router for more configurations.
