What are some extremely generic tattoos that everyone gets?

What I want to know is what NOT to do whan getting my first tattoos and beyond. Some examples I can think of are an Owl on the chest, Infinity symbol on the wrist... any others r/tattoos?

Edit: there's a girl in one of my classes w/ scattered bird silhouettes and an infinity sign with love on the right side-drives me NUTS!
