I just bought an alto pBone to fool around with. Any advice?

Hey guys. So, I'm a fairly experienced tenor player. I've been playing for the better part of the last 12 years, and I'm pursuing a minor in Jazz Performance while I'm here at college. I've always wanted to mess around with and learn the alto trombone, so I just purchased an alto pBone. Thing is, I have next to no clue what to do with the thing. I know that the first solo I want to try to learn is Albrechtsberger's Concerto in Bb for the Alto Trombone. But I'm pretty new to this instrument. Any things I should really know?
