Out of the Country with limited funds, but needing a place for when I return.

I'll try to sum it up as best as possible.

I married an American and we've been back and forth between the US and Canada for the past two years due to family complications and the inability to fund for a visa or anything of the sort.

My wife finally got a job, albeit minimum wage with crappy hours, and her parents are now charging her rent for our small room. I'm becoming more and more of a drain on this family being unable to help or provide in any way beyond physical labor around the house and yard. My wife is struggling to get a bus ticket for me to go back up, and I don't even know where to begin my search for a place to stay.

I feel like I'm at a dead end. Most of my friends and family have full places already, or unable to let me couch surf. Because of my relationship with my wife, my mother and I are not on talking terms and I have nobody close to turn to.

I can find plenty of one-bedroom places for $450 or less, but it all requires first and last. With me being a drain financially on my wife and her family with her now paying our rent, it would take months for her to save up the amount needed.

I need something that would be around plenty of job opportunities, or something that I could potentially get set up just before I go back.

Does anyone have any ideas or suggestions on how I could go about finding a legit job and/or cheap housing online and out of Canada with such small funds? At least so I can even just get a price range up for my wife?
