Lego Rock Band Export Code questions

Just bought Lego Rock Band and planned on exporting all the songs to RB3. It was used and didn't come with the export code but did have the manual.

Has anyone been successful in getting a new export code from EA in this type of situation?

Is there any other option than buying a brand new copy?
