$440/mo June 1–July 31 Sublet in Uptown—1BR in sunny 3BR/2BA
Signed up for a summer program? Inbetween leases? Just wanna chill in Uptown for a couple months? WELL, FRIEND, HERE'S YOUR CHANCE. I'm moving out of my apartment in June to pursue cohabitative bliss with my boyfriend, and am looking for someone to finish my lease! Be a hero of romance AND find yourself a sweet place to live!
RENT: $431.67/mo. It's a weird number because the rent is an odd number, split 3 ways and varying by size of the room. You get the medium-sized room, so you pay about $30 less rent than one of your roommates and $30 more than your other.
UTILITIES: Heat/hot water included; you'll be chipping in for electric (ComEd), gas (Peoples), and internet (Comcast). Bike storage and laundry room in the basement ($1.25 wash cycle, $1.50 dry; takes quarters; rarely full). On-site management company comprised of real humans (not remote entities in the suburbs who take your money and don't return your calls/emails).
ROOMMATES: you'll be living with a videographer and a law student (both dudes). Very respectful and friendly vibe—no roommate drama here. 420 friendly, party friendly, chill-and-watch-TV friendly, hide-in-your-room-playing-video-games friendly. Happy to be your friend or leave you alone, whatever your roomie style. Sorry, no bigots.
NEIGHBORHOOD AMENITIES: you'll be 2 blocks east of the Target and Aldi on Broadway, and 3 blocks north of a huge Jewel-Osco. Other things within walking distance: two separate public libraries, all of the amazing Asian restaurants at Argyle, Clarendon Park community center ($17/mo fitness center!!!), Montrose Harbor/the Lakefront Trail, and many other excellent and life-enriching locations and services.
PUBLIC TRANSIT: ~5min walk to Wilson red line, ~3min walk to 36 Broadway bus and nigh-immediate access to 151 Sheridan bus. Super convenient transportation to Lakeview and Lincoln Park! 3 blocks west of the 148 Clarendon/Wilson and 135 Clarendon/LaSalle express buses, which will take you basically directly downtown.
PARKING: Street. You're on your own.
DO I NEED TO BUY NEW FURNITURE IF I'M ONLY GOING TO LIVE THERE FOR TWO MONTHS: Nope! I am happy to leave you a full-size bed, for free.99, if you are willing to do the work of getting rid of it (or keep it! I don't care. It'll be yours).
WHY HAVEN'T YOU SHOWN ME WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE: okay I was building up to that because I have created a two-minute VIDEO TOUR of the apartment! HERE IT IS. Note the gorgeous paint job in the living room/kitchen area, the fantastic kitchen, the hardwood flooring, and the abundant space. (Seriously, this is a good ass deal for how comfortable and roomy the place is. Leaving it behind is bittersweet for me, and if it is for you, too, there will probably be an option for you to renew the lease in your name if you can find roommates to fill the empty rooms.)
I AM INTERESTED AND/OR WANT TO KNOW MORE: Feel free to comment on this thread with questions or PM me directly if you are interested in taking over my lease!
