Should I play Dillon's Rolling Western: The Last Ranger?

I played the original Dillon's Rolling Western, or at least I played part of it. I could never really get into it for a number of reasons. I thought that the timers on everything were annoying and held the game back, I found it to be repetitive, and I just didn't think it was much fun. I have been browsing r/3DS long enough to know that many of the other people here who bought DRW feel more or less the same way. So, my question is this: Does Last Ranger address these flaws? I already know the timers are still around, so I am just wondering about the other problems I mentioned. Is it a game I might enjoy? I would love to hear from anyone else who could not get into the original, but I welcome opinions from anyone.

TL;DR: I didn't like DRW. Repetitive, not fun. Is Last Ranger better?
