One thing.
I'm mid-miscarriage. If things had gone well, I would be 8 weeks today, but my betas stopped doubling in week 5, and I had methotrexate at the end of weeks 5 and 6.
As this is my third that has been allowed to pass naturally, I am not surprised by any symptoms-- or the emotions, either. But you know what? I'm not a big whiner, I often let little pains go until, oh, teeth are crumbling or I'm in the ER getting spinal tapped. I am not a big partier-- I don't have any fun with recreational substances other than the occasional drink.
BUT! Why the fucking fuck do I have to suffer these cramps, these pains as chunks go through my not-happy cervix, dead sober? I am insulted by a damn prescription for 800 mg of ibuprofen. Why can't I have a proper pain killer? I'm not a drug seeker, I just don't feel like its fair. This pain is for nothing. Its trivial, really, compared to the emotional blow. But it sucks.
Super mature, important, and deserving of its own thread, I know.
Larger, more relevant and discussable topic: Why are our clinicians so terrible at providing care for miscarriage? Its either D&C, with serious attendant risks, or there's the door, enjoy it alone!
