I don't know if I want to go to prom anymore.

I'm in a really weird situation. I already asked a close friend to prom, but the thing is she's romantically involved with a mutual friend who isn't allowed to go to prom. I feel like it's going to be super awkward, and it kind of is already. We both want to go but I'm having second thoughts about going with her and I feel like talking to her about this whole situation wouldn't turn out well... Help?
