A friend of mine suggested I should reply to this. I'm glad to hear so many of you guys liked the videos. I didn't really expect anyone to really mention them after the release of the game, but I'll try and shed some light on a few things.

A few things happened after that video got popular. I was invited by various fan sites to join up with them and post on their blogs, which I wasn't really interested in doing but I did for the sake of being friendly. I think I posted a couple times on GuildMag, who were nice enough to make me a business card.

I also got an invite from TheGameStation (TGS) to become a parter. This is the group that has partners such as TotalHalibut, BlueXephos, OMFGCata and tons more. This was a bit wierd, because it meant I could monetize on the videos. It made me feel really uneasy making a profit talking about someone else's game. I tried to branch the channel out into some gameplay/comedy/commentary for other games, but people only really came for the Guild Wars 2 stuff.

There is some truth to the notion that I quit because I didn't get into the press beta, but it wasn't because I was "pissed". Sure I wasn't happy about it, but it really killed the channel as far as breaking new content out of the beta. Couple that with losing my PAX footage and I was just demoralized on the whole thing. I don't hold it against ArenaNet at all, those guys are a lot of fun. I met quite a few developers at PAX, they were really nice guys. Colin Johanson gave my friend and I passes to a party, where we all got on a big bus and went to the studio to play the game and check out the place. When the game came out they sent me a collector's edition, with the big Rytlock statuette.

Anyways, I made the videos private because I wanted to delete the channel entirely, but it'd be a damn shame to see a video with 1.5m+ views deleted. I republicized the video, sorry about that. As someone developing a game in my spare time, I really didn't want it to be like "Alexrediculous made a game!". I just kinda want to shake the whole thing, yknow?

Sorry for shitting up your subreddit with this AMA crap.
