Trigger Movements?
Hello! I just found this subreddit!
On the Misophonia Activation scale, I rate myself around a 9, although sometimes I do cause harm to myself (bitting my hand quite hard) if I become too enraged. In addition to my trigger sounds, I have noticed that certain movements also cause the same distress if I am not able to avoid seeing them.
The first "trigger" movement I noticed was people shaking their foot and/or playing with their hair. I also can not tolerate watching someone's temples move as they eat food, especially my father's. I assumed before that this was because of my reaction to chewing noises, but now I've also developed a reaction to the motion of ceiling fans.
At first I never associated these with my Misophonia because it is much easier to avoid seeing things than it is hearing things but now I am questioning it more after reading an article that some Misophonia sufferers have complained of certain movements triggering the same reactions. It has gotten to the point that I can't even imagine these movements without feeling extreme anger.
Does anyone here have experiences like this?
