Transfer student in humanities

I've been admitted to both and I'm trying to decide between UCSD or UCI.

My decision is going to be based on:

-cost of living

-reputation of the major (spanish and lit. journ at UCI or spanish/writing UCSD)I would like to be able to turn this major into a job as a Spanish/ English teacher or maybe grad. school in journalism

-quality of life; campus and community lifestyle?

-Does anyone have a feel for the advantages or disadvantages of UCSD in these regards?

-I am also 23 so I am curious about anyone else who has transferred as a "seasoned" student.
