My councilor is suggesting I may have OCD, but I'm not sure...Could you tell me what you think?

Hi :) I have a phobia, emetophobia (The fear of throwing up...please dont be insensitive to it when responding :) ) Which causes me to worry constantly that I'm going to be sick, my husband might be sick, or my kids might be sick. Honestly all day I'm thinking of ways to avoid it, or ways to deal with it, if it were to happen. I havent thrown up in 19 years, my husband has a few times in the time we've been together (12 years) and its never been anything contagious so I would worry like crazy, but wouldnt go totally nuts. Except once, we didnt know why he was sick, and I barely ate more then about 3 crackers that whole day I was so scared. My 4 year old got sick once a few weeks ago, she choked on a piece of PBJ sandwich. I wasnt there when she got sick, but I took her upstairs for a bath and such after, I knew that wasnt contagious either so I didnt freak then either. But I did panic a bit. My son is only 10 months, and hes been sick, but spit up, or gagging on food, so again, not worried. I cant believe how much I worry about and anticipate it now though. Ive always had the fear, but its getting out of control. I worry about leaving the house for fears of picking something up. I dont wash my hands like crazy tho, although I want to. I'm scared to put my daughter in kindergarten next year because of all the sick kids. I dunno how I'll handle it Also lately, Ive been stressing constantly that I'm going to panic. For instance, we're about to go shopping and all I can think about is escape routes and plans if I were to panic while there. I know all of this is silly, I know its just a bodily function and I shouldnt worry. I also know it so rarely happens, that I shouldnt worry about it. But I cant stop obsessing over it. This is the first time Ive heard someone mention I may have OCD (mildly) and will be seeing a psychiatrist on Wednesday to start meds, so I guess she will be the one that official diagnoses (or doesnt) if I have it. I may be naive since Im just learning about this, but I've always pictured OCD as repetitive motions (checking doors over and over) or cleaning your house spotless, washing your hands till they bleed. Could OCD be just obsessive thoughts? If this is OCD, what kind of meds and treatments are there? Thanks for your time <3
