How come I cannot hit a three to save my life in MyCareer?

I'm a PG with a three-point attribute of 95. I play on Superstar difficulty and simulation.

I'm finding it extremely difficult to hit a three. If I take a mid-range jumpshot, it almost always goes in. Heck, if I have a foot on the line, it goes on. But once I step back behind the line, it's over.

I shot 32% my first season, which is fine because I never focused on my three point attribute. But in the second season, with the attribute raised all the way to 95, I'm shooting 26%!! Yes! I'm shooting worse. I'll be wide open with a shot rating of A- but I'll just clank it.

I've experimented with different shooting styles with no luck whatsoever. I don't understand how people on here seem to have success with three-point cheesing. I would get destroyed if did that.

Note: I don't use deadeye or any other shooting skills, but it can't make that much of a difference, can it?
