This didn't work well a few days ago, let's try again: introducing a new subreddit about words, locutions, expressions.
Hello all,
I'm a new mod at r/doesnottranslate. Last time we posted this we ended up with a good zero points, with no visibiliy.
We would like to invite you to at least have a look at the sub. The title is what it is (has to be short) but the creator wrote this in the sidebar: "The "Does not translate" isn't meant to be literal." It simply means we like words or phrases that don't have direct equivalents in other languages.", I hope it helps understand what we are talking about.
If you disagree with the idea, or with a particular post, feel free to post on the sub to explain why. And if you wish to increase the quality of the sub, please post quality content. Of course if you linguists don't participate, it won't be very interesting.
There are discussions going on, and that's what we want!
Thank you for reading, see you there (maybe).
