If NASA manages to capture an asteroid will the US be in the the possession of one of the most powerful weapons since the nuclear bomb?

Just a thought I had. I don't think it will be used for that (at least not the first one) but is this research a gateway to extremely powerful weaponry with out the dirty after effects of radiation fallout?
