Impulses

I wonder sometimes, which is why I even bother to submit this here, if anyone ever has the same impulses as me.

I realize that we all suffer from the tendency to stand on the edge for a moment. The mind will say, "I could step off this ledge and plummet to my death right now". Things like this.

Well, I've put some thought into my specific impulses, and figured that I might be pretty unique.

I don't wonder about jumping off a ledge, or pulling a woman's pants down just to see what her ass looks like. I get a little more specific.

We are a bunch of fragile lives trying to be stable enough to get from point A to point B, but we are also so curious about each other.

I'd never kill another person, but how do you think it might feel? Why do the monsters that we immortalize in films and articles love to kill humans so much? It has to be terrifying.

Imagine, and really imagine, what is it really like to strangle a struggling person to death?

If I tied a loop of twine to a tire-iron and twisted it around a person's neck until they couldn't struggle any more, how much work would I have to put into subduing them until the job was done?

Afterwords, where would I think of to drop off the body?

If I dropped it in the Brazos on the New Mexico side, right next to the K-Bob's Steakhouse, would I be caught?

Like the person who never jumps from the ledge, I merely fantasize.

There's a U shape in the middle of your sternum just below the thyroid. Lean your head back. On either side of this area is a fragile little tendon. Just for fun, put your thumb and finger on it, and tempt yourself into twisting.

Our minds are mystifying.
