Picking a roommate vs. Learning Communities

I am attending Purdue next year as a CS major. I was wodering if it would be better for me to pick a roommate through Roomsync or to attempt to get into a LC. If we both are not acepted to the same LC then we both don't get into the LC and insted I am with my roomate. What would you suggest based off of personal expirence?
