Need to know about pain management and pain meds.

I am presently on 50mg fentanyl and 2 oxycodone every 4 hours. I am still in a lot of pain, but that is besides my point. I have a consult with pain management on the 30th of this month. Either way, I would be appreciative for anything that you can tell me about what to expect from visits to a pain specialist, going to pain management in general and inform me of the different kinds of pain medications available to me and their possible dosages. Thanks all, I'm just trying to become informed. Between my pain, fuzziness and inability to use my hands/fingers at the moment, research on my own is difficult at best.
