Carb counts. Before or after?
Should I measure my cooked veggies before or after I cook them? For example, I sliced a bunch of squash up all at once and sauteed it. When it was raw it measured out to about 7 cups. However, once cooked I re-measured it and it came out to only be about 4 cups....so...how do I count the carbs in something like that? Are the carb counts found in the FAQ ( https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0Ah8MbmZepQxWdGo4bnB2QmxxMUlmTzZUTXYzMURRLWc#gid=0 ) measured before or after it is cooked.
To try and clarify what I'm trying to say I guess i should put it like this.
Listed in the google doc...it says 1/2 cup of summer squash under "cooked vegtables" is 2.6 grams of carbs.
Now...is that 1/2 cup of raw squash measured out THEN cooked or would you cook a bunch of squash and THEN measure out 1/2 cup and put it on your plate?
if anyone could please clarify this for me it would be wonderful. im really confused.
