Statute of Limitations

Hypothetically, if an officer starts chasing criminals that they recognize from a old crime, and the statute of limitation passes within a minutes/hours, would the officer still be able to arrest said criminal even after it passes?

IE. Start chasing before statute of limitation ends, captures after a couple minutes pasted the limitation within 2 hours.
