Is it possible to spontaneously combust from blushing too hard?

I'm newly out and have just gotten a very gay looking haircut. I'm also very very shy around women.....

So, this afternoon I was on the Metro. Suddenly this gorgeous girl is standing next to me on the platform. I must have been checking her out a little unsubtly because she looked up and looked right at me. My reaction, of course, being a total wuss was to stare intensely at my phone and hope to become invisible. Once on the train I sneak another glance and she again looks right at me. Aaaaaah! Back to the phone. Again I look up and again she's looking right at me. Finally I get to my stop and get off the train, taking one last glance over my shoulder. She's looking at me again through the window and gives me a huge smile. Oh god. She has the sexiest smile I think I've ever seen. And she obviously realizes I've been studiously avoiding looking at her the whole ride. I was so flustered I actually got on the wrong connecting train. I honestly don't think I've ever blushed that hard. I'm kind of kicking myself for not talking to her, but I'm also walking on air. Just had to gush, raptors, and I knew you would understand.
